Red Calipers on White
A white Tesla Model X brought in for caliper painting. The factory black calipers were masked, degreased, sanded, primed, and painted gloss red with the Tesla logo stenciled in. Finished with high-temp clear coat. The contrast of red calipers through the black turbine wheels on a white car is exactly the look the owner wanted.

Fogged Headlights Restored + Grey Trim Painted Gloss Black
A Mercedes Sprinter van came in with severely fogged headlights and completely faded grey plastic trim across the entire vehicle. Both headlights were wet-sanded, compounded, and polished back to crystal clear, then sealed with PPF to prevent re-oxidation. All exterior grey trim was painted gloss black — a dramatic transformation that gave the van a sharp, intentional look. The full process is documented across 34 photos.

Paint Protection Film Installation
One of approximately 100 examples ever built, this 2014 Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6×6 is among the rarest road-legal trucks in existence. Produced by Magna Steyr in Graz, Austria, between 2013 and 2015, it was originally sold new in Japan before being imported and federalized in the US in 2019. The owner brought this extraordinary machine to ShowCarPerfection for a full exterior preparation — paintless dent removal to address factory production brace dents, paint correction, re-clearing of the hood and headlight trim, XPEL Stealth clear matte paint protection film across the full front end, and a ceramic coating applied over the PPF. It’s not every day a 1-of-100 vehicle comes through the shop.

Stanced LS400 — Return Visit After Hood Repair
Jacob Montoya is one of the youngest clients we’ve had the pleasure of working with — and one of the most dedicated car enthusiasts. His stanced 1999 Lexus LS400 had been with us before for paint correction and CS-II Nano ceramic coating. This time he came back after having front passenger-side hood damage repaired, and we followed up with a fresh paint correction and CS-II ceramic coating to bring the whole car back to the same standard. Dark black paint doesn’t forgive anything — every swirl, every water spot, every imperfection shows. Jacob understood that, and he cared enough to do it right.

Paint Correction on a Rough Roadster
This one-owner 2008 Tesla Roadster in Twilight Blue Metallic came in rough — damaged paint protection film had to be removed, the front bumper cover needed refinishing, and the headlights required reconditioning. Richard performed a full paint correction to bring the carbon-fiber-bodied Roadster back to life. The transformation was dramatic enough that the owner listed it on Bring a Trailer shortly after it left the shop — where it sold for $96,000 on May 8, 2023. One commenter summed it up: ‘Amazing transformation as always.’

Complete Transformation: Dent Repair, Headlights, Debadge, Wiper Repaint & Matte Grey Wrap
A 2009 Nissan 370Z with 15+ years of wear brought in for a complete transformation. The job included: dent removal and crack repair on multiple body panels; headlight restoration by wet-sanding, machine buffing, and wrapping in PPF; wiper arm removal and repainting from faded grey to fresh satin black; full debadging of all Nissan and 370Z emblems using wire and heat; window gaskets pulled back for a clean edge finish; and a full Plasti Dip matte grey wrap applied in a portable spray tent. Custom emblem adhesive was laser-cut from 3M VHB tape for a factory-clean reinstall. Due to cold and humid conditions on the first attempt, the entire wrap was redone two months later — the second application delivered a flawless, uniform matte finish. The owner, Ashton Tankersley, left a 5-star Google review calling it 'immaculate' and saying he couldn't be happier.

Cyclamen Dark Purple Metallic
A 1995 C4 Corvette in GM's rare Cyclamen (Dark Purple Metallic, Code 05) brought in for a full paint correction followed by front-end PPF. The paint was covered in years of swirl marks, fine scratches, and surface contamination — the kind of damage that makes metallic flake look dull and lifeless. Richard performed a multi-stage correction using a Rupes polisher, working the entire car including the lower rockers on a lift and the tail light surrounds with a mini Bigfoot. The result was a mirror finish that brought the deep purple metallic flake back to life. For the PPF install, no pre-cut patterns exist for a car this old, so Richard hand-cut and bulk-wrapped the entire front end using Carlas USA film and GelWow slip solution — including a 72" roll for the massive C4 hood. When debris got trapped under the film mid-install, Richard used a precision technique to remove it without leaving lift lines. The customer, @thats.so.mint, posted their own reel calling it 'incredible paint correction and PPF.'

3+ Weeks of Paint Correction, Restoration & Preservation · Photo: Kevin Fickling
A 1999 Acura NSX Zanardi Edition — build #5 of only 51 produced, with 18,000 original miles. Completely stock, and believed to still be on its original tires. Despite the remarkably low mileage, the paint was heavily oxidized and had been keyed, with additional damage to the wheels from years of coastal exposure near the ocean. The condition did not match the car at all. All of the issues were correctable. The client was very clear about the intent of this restoration: restore and preserve using the least invasive methods possible. It was imperative to do everything possible to not alter the originality of this car. Over three weeks of meticulous paint correction and restoration work followed — every panel treated with the same care the factory intended. The result: a car that looks exactly as it should, with its originality fully intact. This case study is being updated as over 1,000 photos are processed. Hero photo by Kevin Fickling.

Paint Correction & CS-II Ceramic Coating on a Show Car Legend
"Great Balls of Fire" is a 1954 Buick custom that turns heads everywhere it goes. Finished in a stunning candy purple-to-magenta fade with full orange flame graphics, the "Great Balls of Fire" script lettered along the body line, whitewall tires, and a matching purple-and-white interior — this car is a rolling piece of art. The owner brought it to ShowCarPerfection for a full paint correction and CS-II ceramic coating to protect and enhance the show-quality finish. Custom paint like this demands careful, experienced hands — every panel, every flame, every pinstripe treated with the same precision as the original painter intended.

Paint Correction & Race Glaze Hybrid Blue Carnauba Polymer Wax
The 1996 Buick Roadmaster Estate wagon is one of the last great American full-size wagons — a rolling piece of Detroit history. This one came in with years of swirl marks, water spots, and surface contamination ground into the black paint. Richard performed a full paint correction to remove the defects, then protected the finish with Race Glaze Hybrid Blue Carnauba Polymer Wax — a premium carnauba-polymer blend that delivers deep gloss and lasting protection. The half-corrected panel shots tell the story better than words can.

Paint Correction & CS-II Ceramic · SEMA 2017 Display Car · Jay Leno's Garage S04E14
This is Richard's personal 1988 Toyota MR2 Supercharged — a car he dreamed about since his youth and spent two-and-a-half decades tracking down. The AW11 retains its original factory paint, corrected and protected with CS-II Nano Ceramic Coating. In November 2017, the car was selected as the display vehicle for the CS-II booth at SEMA in Las Vegas, where it was featured in Japanese Nostalgic Car magazine under the headline 'An unmolested Toyota MR2 gave us the strength to carry on.' The article described Richard as 'a veteran of many SEMAs' who declared emphatically, 'It's not for sale.' That article caught the attention of Jay Leno's Garage — the planned red AW11 for their MR2 episode had a blown head gasket, so the production team searched online, found the JNC article, and reached out through MR2 community groups. Richard's car was filmed on June 6, 2018 and appeared in Season 4, Episode 14: 'Limited Funds, Unlimited Fun!' — which aired September 13, 2018 on CNBC. The car's presence on national television is a testament to what proper paint correction and ceramic coating can do for a 30-year-old original-paint vehicle.
