From single-stage paint enhancement to full ceramic coating packages, every service is performed with the same obsessive attention to detail that has defined ShowCarPerfection for over 20 years.
Preservation over Perfection — Perfection means nothing if the structural integrity of the paint is compromised.
Restore Your Paint to Factory Perfection
Paint correction is the process of removing surface defects from a vehicle's clear coat — swirl marks, fine scratches, water spots, oxidation, and buffer trails. Richard Lin has been perfecting this craft for over 20 years, and every job is done by Richard himself, not handed off to an employee. We offer two distinct approaches: Subtractive and Additive Paint Correction.

Subtractive correction uses machine polishing compounds to physically remove a microscopic layer of clear coat, leveling the surface and eliminating scratches, swirl marks, and oxidation. This is the most common form of paint correction and delivers dramatic, measurable results — but it does consume a small amount of clear coat each time.
We apply XKote, a hand-applied 2K clear coat that works on any type of paint. It's called "additive" because while we remove a small amount of paint to prep the surface, we add back significantly more than we remove — leaving a finish that looks like a fresh repaint. The process typically takes 1–2 days and is ideal for situations where traditional subtractive correction would require excessive paint removal or where the labor cost to cut and refine would be prohibitive. Think off-road trucks with tree-branch pin striping, heavily oxidized paint, or vehicles with deep widespread damage. XKote cannot save paint that has already failed structurally or is excessively thin (the solvents may penetrate), but it excels on oxidized and damaged paint where the structural integrity is still intact.

Pricing is determined by time. Heavily neglected or exotic paint can reach $3,500+. Every job is quoted after a thorough in-person evaluation.

The Smart Starting Point — 4 Levels of Gloss & Protection
Not every car needs a full paint correction. The Enhancement is our entry-level service that cleans, decontaminates, and adds a layer of protection — improving the gloss and feel of your paint without the cost of a full correction. We offer four levels, each building on the last, so you can choose the right level of care for your vehicle's condition and your budget.
We evaluate your paint under proper lighting and recommend the level that makes sense for your car's condition. A well-maintained daily driver may only need Level 1 or 2. A neglected vehicle with heavy swirl marks and water spots may need Level 3 or 4 — or a full paint correction. We'll always tell you the truth about what your car needs.

The Enhancement is the right choice when full paint correction isn't in the budget but you still want a meaningful improvement. Pricing varies by vehicle size and condition.

CS-II US Distributor & Trainer — The Gold Standard in Protection
Ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that chemically bonds with your vehicle's factory paint, creating a layer of protection that lasts years, not months. Richard is the US distributor and trainer for CS-II — and contributed to the R&D of the product line itself. He came on board in 2015 not as an end-user, but as a partner in developing and bringing professional-grade coatings to the US market. The result is a hydrophobic, UV-resistant, scratch-resistant surface that maintains a showroom-quality gloss.

Richard guarantees the longevity of every coating — as long as the owner commits to regular washing to maintain the hydrophobic bond.

Invisible Armor Against Road Damage
Paint Protection Film (PPF), also known as clear bra, is a thermoplastic urethane film applied to the exterior of a vehicle to protect the paint from rock chips, road debris, bug splatter, and minor abrasions. Modern PPF is virtually invisible, self-healing, and can be removed without damaging the paint underneath. We use premium PPF films for maximum clarity and durability.

Sell for More — Bring a Trailer Specialists
The condition of your car's paint is one of the most important factors in how it presents online and at auction. ShowCarPerfection has prepared vehicles for some of the most successful listings on Bring a Trailer — and the results speak for themselves. A properly corrected and protected car photographs better, inspects better, and commands a higher price. We've seen clients recoup 5–10x the cost of detailing in their final sale price.
Bring a Trailer buyers are sophisticated — they know what a properly maintained car looks like, and they know when a car has been hastily cleaned for photos. We prepare vehicles the right way: full decontamination, paint correction to the appropriate level, ceramic coating or wax protection, and detailed documentation of the work done. The investment typically pays for itself many times over.

The 2008 Tesla Roadster we corrected sold for $96,000 on Bring a Trailer. The G63 AMG 6×6 we prepared has been featured on BaT twice. The Zanardi NSX we prepared sold to a private buyer for over $200,000. The investment in proper preparation consistently pays for itself.

Avoid Dealer Charges — Return in Perfect Condition
Lease return charges for paint damage, interior wear, and wheel scuffs can add up quickly — and dealers charge significantly more than the actual cost of repair. ShowCarPerfection can assess your vehicle before return and address the items that matter, so you walk away without surprise charges. We focus on what the dealer will actually flag, not unnecessary extras.

Clarity Restored — See and Be Seen
Headlights yellow and haze over time due to UV exposure, oxidation, and road debris — reducing visibility and making an otherwise clean car look neglected. ShowCarPerfection restores headlights to crystal-clear clarity using a multi-stage wet-sanding and polishing process, then seals the restoration with PPF film to keep them clear long-term. The difference is dramatic and immediate.
Headlight restoration is also included in our Full Lease Return and Prep for Sale packages.

These macro photos show water beading on CS-II coated paint. The near-perfect spherical contact angle — water sitting up like a marble rather than spreading — is the visual proof of a true hydrophobic bond. Contaminants, road grime, and water simply cannot adhere to the surface.
